Maize wine receives certificate of indication of geographical origin

Maize wine produced in Na Hang district has received a certificate of indication of geographical origin after the district submitted the application for a registration of geographical indication/designation of origin at the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP).

Maize wine produced in Na Hang district receives the certificate of geographical indication/designation of origin issued by the NOIP.

The wine is produced by leaving cooked maize to ferment with a type of the yeast produced from the available leaves and roots of forest trees in Na Hang district. Water used to make the wine is the water that flows from the mountains streams . The wine has a distinctive aroma of maize kernels, especially the scent of yeast, which is produced from the leaves and roots of forest trees by following the traditional methods.

The People's Committee of Na Hang district is the organizer and manager of the geographical origin of the wine. The origin of the wine is a specific place in the part of Na Hang district , including Thuong Nong, Con Lon, Da Vi, Son Phu and Na Hang township. Thus, the maize wine produced in Na Hang is the fourth product of the province that have got a certificate of geographical indication/designation of origin , of which two products are produced in Na Hang district.
